The high alpine hike overlooking the Ormont Valley affords some magnificent views onto the Diablerets chain, the Tours d'Ai, the Chamossaire and the Culan. Begin the hike in Isenau, the 1763-meter-high mountain station of the aerial cable-car. The hike remains at more or less this altitude all along the way. It traverses along the flanks of Cape au Moine - Pic Chaussy in areas that are already above the tree line. Becuase of its relative height, it is imperaive that one brings along enough water and sun block. Up on top, the path is quite straightforward but once on the ascent after La Lé, it requires a bit more concentration. It climbs steeply onto the 2351-meter-high Pic Chaussy. The view from here includes the Col des Mosses and the Pays d'Enhaut to the North. Zigzag down to Lioson Lake and continue to Les Mosses on shady forest trails. Persons not used to scrambling on very steep trails should take the route around the Pic Chaussy, not over it.
Hikers wishing to avoid the steep ascent to the Pic Chaussy can take the longer panoramic hike around the Pic to Les Mosses.

Drive or take public transportation to Les Diablerets either from Bern via Thun/Gstaad or Montreux; then aerial cable-car to Isenau.
