Capolago (Ticino)
On Monte Generoso, there are karst caves which used to house huge local bears, of the genus Ursus spelaeus which lived here 18-20,000 years ago. Since the original findings, more than 10,000 objects have been discovered here. The dig can be visited and questions are encouraged.
Carona (Ticino)
The San Grato Park with an area of 62,000 square meters is home to the largest and most diverse collection of azaleas, rhododendrons and pine trees in this almost subtropical region.
