Le sommet proprement dit du Monte Tamaro (à 1h30 à pied de la station supérieure) offre un des plus beaux panoramas des montagnes du Tessin méridional. Il s’étend des sommets valaisans enneigés de plus de 4000 m entourant le Mont Rose aux Alpes bergamasques.
A côté d’un grand parc aventure, d’une des plus longues tyroliennes et d’une installation de luge d’été, on trouve sur l’Alpe Foppa la célèbre chapelle de montagne Santa Maria degli Angeli de Mario Botta. Construite entre 1992 et 1994, elle représente un concept novateur dans le domaine de la création d’un édifice religieux. Elle trône au sommet d’un éperon rocheux d’où on peut admirer un panorama exceptionnel.
Les randonneurs fatigués venant du Monte Lema utilisent souvent la télécabine de l’Alpe Foppa (Tamaro) pour descendre à Rivera.

L’Alpe Foppa, au-dessous du Monte Tamaro, point de départ de nombreuses randonnées, attire de nombreux visiteurs: Mario Botta y a construit l’église Santa Maria degli Angeli à 1530 m d’altitude pour la société de la télécabine.
On the actual peak of Monte Tamaro (a 90-minute walk from the mountain station), you will be rewarded with one of the best panoramas in the southern mountains of Ticino: You will be able to see the snow-capped 4000-meter Valaisian peaks around Monte Rosa up to the Bergamasker Alps. Aside from a large adventure park, one of the longest Tyroliennes and a coaster facility, the Alpe Foppa is graced by the famous mountain chapel of Santa Maria degli Angeli, designed by Mario Botta. Built between 1992 and 1994, the chapel represents an innovation in church architecture. It presides over the peak of a slope, from which one can enjoy an unusual panorama.

Accès:
La station de départ de la télécabine à Rivera est accessible en train régional depuis Bellinzone ou Lugano. En voiture, prendre la sortie Rivera sur l’A1 (autoroute du Gothard) au sud du tunnel du Ceneri et suivre la route cantonale jusqu’à la station de départ.
