Intro

The living museum, located in the former armory next to the Roman amphitheater and the community center, brings visitors together as they share in the world of the legendary Saint Bernard dogs from the Great St. Bernard.

The St Bernard museum "Musée et Chiens du Saint Bernard" was founded in 2006 by the Bernard and Caroline de Watteville foundation and since mid-2014 is managed by Barryland.

Special attraction here is of course the world-famous St. Bernard hospice dogs. The ground floor houses the kennels and space where the dogs are taken care of. The dogs’ kennels are connected to an outdoor enclosure, hence permitting the Saint Bernard dogs to romp freely while keenly observed. Visitors see the unique Saint Bernard every day in the museum - and both young and old can stroke these admirable four-legged friends and watch them as they run around the park premises.

A tour about the history of the Great Saint Bernard is open to visitors on the first floor; temporary exhibitions are viewed on the second floor and refreshments enjoyed at the "Le Collier d'Or" restaurant round up a most pleasurable visit.
