Meyerstollen

For more than 200 years, an extraordinary network of tunnels, chambers and shafts has extended under the city, constructed by the industrialist Johann Rudolf Meyer to harness hydro power. You can explore them and the new railway station on a guided tour.

Aarau is home to a special place of cultural interest consisting of a unique construction from the perspective of technology and industrial history: the Meyerschen Stollen, an underground water collecting system dating from the early 19th century.

Kornhauskeller Bern

The Kornhaus, or granary, is considered a major work from the Bernese high baroque period. The top three storeys were originally used to store grain, while vats of wines from tithes and domains were stacked in the cellar. Today the Kornhauskeller – a restaurant in the cellar - ranks among the most magnificent dining rooms in Switzerland.

The Kornhauskeller is truly unique, remarkable on account of both its size and splendor.
