Take the "Hintere Gasse" through the Bernese Oberland

Ambitious hikers will want to try their hand at this long distance hike called "Hintere Gasse" (backstreets) connecting Meiringen to Gsteig via Grosse and Kleine Scheidegg, Sefinenfurge, Hohtürli, Bonderchrinde, Hahnenmoos Pass, Trütlisberg Pass and Chrine. The hike generally lasts eight days.

High moor Chaltenbrunnen

The Chaltenbrunnen raised mire is located on a slope terrace above Meiringen. Because it has remained in its original unspoiled state, it is one of the most important mires in the Swiss Alps.
