Switzerland's hiking trail network is considered one of the densest, most varied and over all, best posted one in the world. More than 65,000 km of mountain and hiking trails are marked: lined up, all of these trails would circle the globe about 1.5 times! Please remember that the weather can change very rapidly in the mountains. Even though the sky may be clear when you set out, you should still take along warm clothes or a fold up jacket for inclement weather. Always tell someone at your hotel where you are hiking.
Nowhere else in Switzerland are there so many state-protected moorlands in such a small area as in Entlebuch: 44 highland moors, 61 bogs and 4 moor landscapes. The four- to five-day hiking tour takes place on Switzerland's first moorlands trail, inaugurated in 2004.
The challenging mountain tour leads all around Mittaghorn mountain and around Egginer. You will hike right through huge screes strewn with boulders and debris left behind when a glacier melted, alpine meadows and even an actual glacier. At 3,000 meters, Brittania hut is the highest point of the route. The views of the Saas mountain world are simply stunning. Fourthousand meter giants as far as the eye can reach.
