The Fondazione Curzùtt - San Barnard was established in 1998 with the aim of reviving the main historic, artistic and scenic testimonies of the "Collina Alta" of Monte Carasso near Bellinzona. The Foundation has furthermore set up a comfortable youth and group hostel in order to foster an understanding for and arouse interest in culture and nature by actively including young people. As in most parts of the Ticino, many different eco systems merge together in a tiny area on the Collina Alta of Monte Carasso. The wealth this represents is priceless.
The morphological and climatic conditions of the area allowed the development of a community (until 1700 seven hundred people lived in the various settlements) which lived in harmony with countryside and nature.
