Avers

At the end of the Averser Valley, high above the tree line and close to the sky you will find the Walser village of Juf, located at an altitude of 2,126 m a.s.l.
The highest constantly inhabited village in Europe is Juf, with a population of 30. Juf, located at an altitude of 2126 m.a.s.l. is in the Averser Valley, at the foot of the Septimer Pass and Mt. Staller.
The people living here make their living by farming. There is a very cozy inn, which accommodates visitors and nature lovers wishing to explore this wild region where the motor road ends and from where many hiking trails radiate. It is the ideal place to decompress and to enjoy a slower pace of life, with only the cowbells and the shrill whistles of the marmots piercing the air.

How to get there:
Drive or take public transportation from Chur via Thusis to Juf.
