In Gstaad you can start an adventurous journey on the Saane River that takes you to the vacation region of Pays d'Enhaut.

Cross the language border while river rafting on the tempestuous Saane River. Far from the pleasantly gurgling stream further upstream, the Saane in the posh resort Gstaad becomes a raging stream with many rapids. As rafters approach the Vanel and the Gérignoz Gorges, the adrenalin level seems to rise conspicuously. It is a good thing that the excursion is escorted by an experienced guide who will guide rafters through the high velocity water safely. And then everything becomes calm: cows graze on green meadows and the Saane becomes a placid river. Dip the paddles in for a last time and then it is time to get out: what an experience!

Drive or take public transportation to Spiez or Montreux and then on to Gstaad.
