Excursions 
Healing hot water jets, up to 37° C warm, surge from the ground,
sometimes forming geysers up to 70 m high. The first guests were
lowered in baskets, there was soon a spa. These days this Baroque spa
"Alten Bad Pfäfers" offers a charming spa experience, as well as a
wonderful restaurant. There is also a permanent exhibit which covers
the then-leading surgeon, Paracelsus, the old spa, as well as life in
the old spa. The hike to the ravine where the spa is easy enough. The
hike thereafter, through the actual gorge, is highly impressive, with
parts of the gorge so close that the walls seem to touch.
Tamina Gorge is open from may to october every day 10a.m. to 6 p.m.

Drive or take public transportation to Bad Ragaz, from Bad Ragaz take the bus to "Altes Bad Pfäfers".

Judging by the medieval descriptions of the Tamina Gorge, this place
near Bad Ragaz seemed more of a hellish kind of place as opposed to a
place where the sick would go to heal. And yet, thousands made the
pilgrimage here.
