This outpost of the Waadtland Alps is famous for its view of the crescent of Lake Geneva curving into the hazy distance, the Wallis and Savoy Alps and the Jura. A stroll through the Alpine garden "Rambertia" is recommended after the ascent. The garden's 1,000 Alpine plants are not only culled from the European Alps, but from mountainous regions around the world. In June, though, one flower reigns supreme: the narcissus that grows in the wild on Rochers-de-Naye.

Other attraction: Woodchuck paradise: there are enclosures housing 14 different species of woodchuck from 3 continents.

For families: A steam locomotive regularly travels this route from May to October.
