After you have viewed the exterior of the church and its interior, which is adorned with paintings by the Tessin artist Enzo Cucchi, four and a half hours of nature, exercise and panoramas await you. The ascent from the Alpe Foppa, 1530 m, to the peak of Monte Tamaro, 1961 m, is a bit strenuous, but it is followed by the airy hike across the narrow ridge path between Lago Maggiore and Lake Lugano. Rounded peaks, flat mountain saddles, rock passages and mountain meadows offer a variety of impressions. And you should stop every so often and marvel at the view: in the West, beyond blue-violet mountain ridges, the Alpine peaks of Wallis rise like a vision, all the way to Monte Rosa, in the East green Malcantone pleases the eye, in the South the Lombardy.
