言語：フランス語／カントン：ヴォー（VD）／標高：958 m 牧草地が広がるのどかなペイダンオー地方 Pays-d'Enhaut にある山里。スイスを横断するゴールデンパス・ラインのルート上にあり、MOB鉄道でモントルーから約１時間で結んでいます。『レティヴァ・チーズ』の産地でもある山村レティヴァ L’Etivazなど、昔ながらの酪農農家が多く、牧上りや牧下りといった行事や、牧童の暮らしをモチーフにした切り絵細工などに伝統が息づいています。
観光地の紹介
1999年、この地を出発した熱気球が世界一周無着陸飛行に成功したことでも有名。毎年１月に、世界中の熱気球が集結するイベントが開催されています。 周辺には、 画家のバルテュスが晩年暮らしたロシニエール Rossinière 、故ダイアナ妃が少女時代を過ごしたルージュモン Rougemont など、豊かな自然に抱かれた素朴な隠れ里が点在しています。

Thanks to the Videmanette cableway, Rougemont has a direct connection to the ski area of Gstaad. In winter, the railway also brings winter sports enthusiasts to the nearby ski areas of Schönried and Saanenmöser. The high plateau of Les Mosses – La Lécherette is very popular with cross-country skiers. 35 km of trails lead through snow-covered fields and forests. Further activities and facilities include snow-shoe treks, toboggan runs and winter walking trails.
A beautiful pre-Alpine walking area lies south of Château-d'Oex: La Pierreuse, the largest nature conservation area in western Switzerland contains rock areas, forests, abundant flora and flat moors. For both leading bikers and amateurs, the Pays-d'Enhaut offers a large network of marked mountain biking trails along the tracks of the 1997 world championships. You can indulge in white-water sports on the fast-flowing river Saane: canyoning, hydrospeed, canoeing /kayaking and river rafting. One of Switzerland’s most beautiful river rafting routes lies between the wild Vanel and Gérignoz gorges.
