5세기 초반, 부르군트족(Burgondes)은 바로 이곳에서 남쪽으로의 이동을 멈추었다. 그들은 이 지역의 와인과 음식을 맛보고 정착하기로 결정을 내린 것이다. 카롤루스 대제(Charlemagne)가 서기 770년 롬바르드족에 대항한 전쟁 중에 이곳에 머물기도 하였다. 1597년 지어진 포르 뒤 섹(Port du Scex)성은 정기적으로 문화적인 전시회장으로 이용되고 있다.

The ancient market town of Vouvry is a convivial place and the departure point for the magnificent Taney Natural Park. Although Vouvry’s history dates back to Roman times, the townspeople keep an eye on the future. Some ancient buildings are worth a visit, such as the bell tower and the church. From Miex, the "sunny balcony", you will discover an unexpected panorama on the Chablais and the Vaudoises Alps. The village of Taney is one of the most sumptuous alpine sites, where mountains and fir forests are reflected in a lake of clear and deep waters.
