The Hotel Terrasse am See was opened in 1873 under the name Hotel Rigi-Bahn. Its fantastic location right on the lake, the breakfast buffet above the lake until 11am in the Restaurant Rondel, the tranquility and views from the panoramic terrace and the evening atmosphere will transport you to another world. The former Hotel Rigibahn was built in 1873 by the Vitznau-Rigi Railway and extended in 1930 to its present form. A striking feature is the "Berger Annex", the Bauhaus style Restaurant Rondel that swings out over the lake and was originally designed to be the first dancing hall on Lake Lucerne. The Rondel still has all its original furniture from 1930.

Vitznau is situated at the very heart of Switzerland on the shores of Lake Lucerne and at the foot of Mt. Rigi.
