Historic hotel of the year 2001
Originally built in 1859, this hotel already had its first extensions done only ten years later by the renowned hotel architect Louis Maillard from Vevey. On a terrace overlooking the mountain road, the Bella Tola embodies a typical alpine hotel of the 19th century that, thanks to further additions, has developed into a Grand Hotel. It remained in the hands of the same family for three generations, after which it was changed into a shareholder company before finally falling into the possession of Anne-Françoise and Claude Buchs. The new owners have restored the house to some of its original luster, which had been lost little by little through the different phases of transformation. Today, the overall historic appearance is kept intact, with the old floors and windows having been stylishly renovated. The personal involvement of the current owners is inimitable, and a stay at this gem of a hotel in the Val d’Anniviers is a real experience.
