Nendaz - Mont-Fort

The descent from Mont-Fort to the Col des Gentianes is not for the faint-hearted. The slope is extremely steep and is therefore considered to be very difficult. Since it cannot be mechanically maintained, it is riddled with bumps - the absolute ultimate for any ace skier.

Its 3,330 metres make the Mont-Fort the highest point in the vast "4 Vallées" winter sports region. The summit panorama stretches from Mont Blanc to the Matterhorn and includes more than 50 four-thousand-metre peaks. Here, this magnificent scenery forms the backdrop to one of the steepest slopes in the Alps. It is marked in black, but that's almost an understatement. The descent to the Col des Gentianes is only suitable for extremely good skiers. The route is secured but not rolled and its many bumps call for a high degree of physical fitness.
