Great history in a small place: the Hotel Stern & Post was Switzerland’s first post office, in 1849.

At the beginning of the last century, the building was converted into a very comfortable hotel. Today the Hotel Stern & Post – the only post house still existing from the days of transport by post coach over the Gotthard pass – has been returned to its former splendour. Enjoy the unique atmosphere, and ex - perience for yourself our wonderful cuisine and fi ne wines.
