Beschrijving
From the panoramic restaurant one can enjoy wonderful views of the "Gstaad Dolomites". This is also the starting point for three climbing routes of varying degrees of difficulty, fantastic mountain bike tours and unlimited flying for paragliders.
Even hikers have the best views on the easy three and a half hour trail through the "stone desert" of La Pierreuse far down towards Château d'Œx. Its 34 square kilometres make La Pierreuse the largest protected area in western Switzerland, while showcasing the typical characteristics of the Pre-Alps - rocky areas, forests, fens and a wealth of flora shape the scenery.
It is worth making a detour to the alp of the same name before visiting the hot air balloon exhibition in Château d'Œx and admiring the museum's collection of silhouette cuttings, or scissor cuttings. A visit to Le Chalet to taste cheese that has been produced according to age old traditions is also well worth the trip.
