Hiking with buggies

Even at high altitudes there are magnificent hiking trails that Daddy can easily navigate with a baby carriage or stroller without breaking a sweat.

Our three suggestions:

1. Saas-Fee - Saas-Almagell - Saas-Grund - Saas-Balen
From Saas-Fee, Saas-Almagell (40 minutes) can be easily reached via a forest trail. From Saas-Almagell, the path runs along the Vispe to Saas-Grund (1 hour) or to Saas-Balen (105 minutes). The PostBus will take your family back to your starting point. PostBus schedule

2. Saas-Fee - Hohnegg - Melchboden - Bärenfalle

At the church in Saas-Fee, you'll start the short ascent to Restaurant Schäferstube. The trail above the village takes you to Hohnegg. From there, it's not far to the idyllic forest clearing of Melchboden. A small lake as well as barbecue and picnic areas invite you to linger. Perhaps you'll meet a "Gotwergeni" (a dwarf) on the Märliweg (Fairy Tale Path). Then it's just a few minutes to Bärenfalle. From there the trail will take you to the Wildi area and back to Saas-Fee.

3. Hinter den Zäunen From the Kalbermatten Sports Field you can stroll to the Felskinn cableway.
Below the bottom station, the trail branches off in one direction towards the Wolfsgrube, and in the other towards the area known as Hinter den Zäunen. The Wolfsgrube is the perfect place for family barbecues, picnics and games. A paved road also leads back to the village through the area known as "Hinter den Zäunen". Several rest stops near the murmuring mountain stream invite you to linger and enjoy the tranquillity.
