Monte Brè is well-known for its breathtaking panorama of the Alps, the city of Lugano, Monte Rosa and the Italian region between Milan and Turin. Since 1912, the funicular Lugano-Casserate has been taking visitors comfortably to the mountaintop, via the mid-station of Suviglia.
There are hiking trails and educational trails starting at the peak (1,000 meters above sea level), including mountain paths to neighbouring peaks and a challenging descent to Lake Lugano via the educational trail "Nature and Archaeology". An easy to descend staircase takes you to the village of Brè, a typical Ticinese village replete with grottoes. The Art Path, situated in the center of the village, showcases the works of established artists.
