Villa Flora

French paintings from the 19th and 20th centuries
are exhibited in the authentic ambience created by the museum-architects Rittmeyer & Furrer in the former private villa of the collectors Hedy and Arthur Hahnloser-Bühler.

Between 1907 and 1930, Hedy and Arthur Hahnloser-Bühler built up a collection of Swiss and French art of extraordinary quality. The main focus is on young Swiss artists and on the works of the Nabis (Bonnard, Vallotton, Vuillard) and Fauves (Matisse, Rouault, Manguin) groups as well as their forerunners (Cézanne, van Gogh, Redon).
