Introdução

As his first project, Charles-Edouard Jeanneret, who later called himself Le Corbusier, built the Maison Blanche for his parents on the hills of his native town. This architectural masterpiece served this world-famous architect as a laboratory for his first construction techniques.

This building is of national importance. It is the first construction built by Le Corbusier as an independent architect and acted as a type of laboratory where he tried his construction techniques out for the first time.

The Maison Blanche, also known as the Villa Jeanneret-Perret, was completely renovated in 2005 and is now open to visitors from Friday to Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm. In conjunction with his break with the art nouveau style, the future Le Corbusier had created a building that he used as a veritable laboratory for the architectural concepts which he had collected on his travels. All the rooms, restored and furnished in the original style, feature numerous anecdotes and hidden references to this architect, who was born in La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1887.
