La Punt
Hint
Intro
The patricians of the old days knew why they built their stately homes right here: La Punt has a favorable strategic situation at the foot of the former trade route across the Albula pass. The erstwhile farming village Chamues-ch lies at the entrance to the mystical chamois valley, the Val Chamuera.
Description
To this day, the people are proud of their richly adorned farmhouses and stately patrician homes dating from the 16th and 17th century: the Chesa Merleda with its bright white pinnacles, the Albertini houses with their ornamental facades, or the impressive Sandoz house.
Winter
In winter, the road across the pass is closed for traffic and turns into a racy sledding run with great curves. The fantastic cross-country skiing and snowshoe trails as well as the beautiful ski tour routes are promising elements for a wonderful winter holiday. The children’s ski lift Müsella next to an ample playground turns the area into a snow paradise for families.
Summer
The sunny picturesque village is spread out between rocky mountains and fragrant pine forests along the Inn river and across the plains of the Engadine valley. They are the ideal surroundings for a variety of tours by mountainbike, racing bike, inline skates or on foot, for instance on the Engadine high trail. Families will love the scenic playgrounds and barbecue fireplaces at the river.
