Hotel Kreuz in Sachseln, Canton Obwalden, is situated in the very heart of Switzerland. The earliest documentary mention of this establishment dates back to the 17th century. The hotel's ancient walls have since then been combined with contemporary architectural elements, lending it a spirit of openness. It has 26 bright and spacious rooms, a restaurant with terrace that serves dishes made with fresh local produce and a banqueting hall for up to 80 guests. Guests can also avail themselves of the hotel's own sunbathing lawn on the shores of Lake Sarn.

Hotel Kreuz is situated in the centre of the village next to the pilgrimage church.

The Farbhaus (dye house), which is known to be one of the oldest buildings in Switzerland, serves as an annex, providing an additional four rooms and some cosy saloons.

Sachseln was the birthplace of the Swiss patron saint, Niklaus von Flüe (1417-1487) and makes an ideal base camp for expeditions into the Lake Lucerne region and throughout Central Switzerland. Lucerne itself is just a few minutes away by public transport.
