The traditional boxcar races are the particularity of Bénichon celebrations in the Charmey mountain. It is, above all, an amusing spectacle combining originality, art and competition. Each team, composed of five young people, spends weeks feverishly transforming its hay-cart into a higly original "boxcar", giving a free rein to its imagination. An event then follows which, for the sportiest participants is a race, and for the others, an artistic display. Prices are awarded to the most innovative.
