意为“天使之乡”。12世纪以本尼迪克特派的修道院为中心发展为山谷间的小镇。1798年加入瑞士联邦以前一直是个被修道院统治的独立国家。现在，修道士们几乎都成了修道院附属学校的教师。英格堡风景秀丽，拥有沉积着万年积雪和冰河的铁力士山(Mt.Titlis)。山间湖泊如特吕布湖及开满花朵的山坡。这一带自然资源丰富，人们可以尽情享受漫步、滑翔、蹦极、山地车、滑雪等各种运动。从琉森（卢塞恩）乘坐列车1小时即可到达英格堡。
描述
铁力士山是瑞士中部海拔最高的游览胜地，也是最大的滑雪和单板滑雪运动乐园。铁力士山是英格堡的“自家山”，可乘坐旋转缆车到达铁力士山的冰河公园。游客身在海拔3020米的山峰，可以将中央阿尔卑斯的美景尽收眼底。铁力士山冰河公园和“冰川飞渡椅”（Ice Flyer）吊椅索道是那些热衷于滑雪运动游客的乐园，还有一些免费提供给初学者和冒险者的其他滑雪设备。铁力士山上有一座自由式公园、亘古不变冰雪中的冰河洞穴，游客还可选择在山上徒步旅行。
冬季
从铁力士山到英格堡的坡道长达12公里，海拔相差2000米。约赫山口(Joch Pass)滑雪区域一直延伸到伯尔尼高地。在英格堡向阳面的生活会更加宁静：布鲁尼(Brunni)是新手、家庭、团体以及休闲放松的理想之地。还可以通过越野滑雪、北欧式漫步、冬季漫步以及马车或马拉雪橇来探索山谷。
夏季
几条主题小径（山花小径、布鲁尼小径、快乐小径、Knapp小径l）为游客提供了徒步探索乡村的绝妙机会。徒步旅行的乐园特吕布湖（Trübsee）位于铁力士山的半山腰，是前往多个高山湖泊游览的出发点。其他冒险项目包括攀登四条via ferrata之一、高山翼伞滑翔、漂流、蹦谷以及骑自行车运动。十八洞的高尔夫球场也同样令人兴奋。

Engelberg Energy TownEngelberg has called itself an energy town since 2011 and has covered its own electricity requirements with 100% renewable electricity since 2022 and with an additional 50% green electricity from 2030. Engelberg is continuously committed to the efficient use of energy, climate protection, renewable energies and environmentally friendly mobility. In the village and on the mountain, a lot of emphasis is placed on sustainability. Flagship businesses have been certified with the Swisstainable label. All mountain railways in Engelberg are operated with environmentally friendly hydroelectric power. The Brunni cable cars, for example, have been a climate-neutral mountain railway company since 2018. The transport systems there have been running on 100% electricity from Co2-free hydropower since 2013. Many restaurants and shops in Engelberg offer local specialities and thus attach great importance to sustainable and regional products.
