Experience an unforgettable day high up on the mighty Aletsch glacier, at an altitude of 3454 meters above sea level, with the awe inspiring backdrop of the Bernese and Valais Alps. On foot over the glacier, safely bypassing dangerous glacial crevasses, and bringing you in direct contact with the history and progression of the lofty world of mountains and glaciers, this icy adventure is sure to be something you will be talking about for a long time.
The journey begins by train to the Jungfraujoch, the highest railway station in Europe. Enjoy the beautiful views along this exciting train ride of discovery, from the valley meadows below, on to steeper terrain, the journey progresses above the tree line and finally delivers us through the tunnel through Eiger and Möch to the very centre of the icy mountain arena. From here we set out on the guided Aletsch glacier tour, roped together safely by our qualified and experienced mountain guides. If conditions allow, we can take a closer look at a glacier crevasse and experience climbing on a small ridge. During the hike, our guides will share their many interesting stories about the mountain and glacier world.
After a break there will be an opportunity to look inside and around the Jungfraujoch with your guides, taking in visits to the Ice palace, the glacier plateau, the new "Alpine Sensation" and to the highest point of the complex, the Sphinx terrace. Interesting information can be found everywhere detailing the construction of the railway and the tunnel, and the development of tourism on the Jungfraujoch.
