Intro

The first original SAURER textile machines are on exhibit in the museum. It also chronicles the company’s history – but there is more! An important section is reserved for the world of robust vehicles.

The SAURER museum is located in the historical buildings of the former Saurer factory immediately adjacent to the lake.
Large information panels are available to tell the visitors about the history of the Saurer family and their business from 1860 on, when the company was established, to the present. Saurer embroidery machines and looms are also on exhibit, including Saurer’s very first embroidery machine and fabric samples, woven and embroidered on Saurer machines.

But the museum not only focuses on the history of the company. The well-known heavy utility vehicles, such as the "Caminhao" from 1911 as well as beautiful postbuses, military vehicles, fire trucks, most of them operational, are presented here, in addition to a complete collection of Saurer petrol and diesel engines of all sizes.
