Overview
Opposites attract The canton of Fribourg offers great diversity in a small area. In the south it is alpine and hilly; in the north you can expect wide fields and large lakes. In the nature parks it is wild and unspoilt; around the small towns it is full of joie de vivre and culture. Both French and German are spoken and even the rivers are full of contrasts: the Sense is both warm and cold. This varied cycle tour starts in Bern and takes you up and down through the Gantrisch and Gruyères Pays-d'Enhaut nature parks. At the end you leave the lively canton of Fribourg behind you and roll down to Lake Geneva with a fantastic view of the Mont Blanc massif.
