The most commonly taken and easiest route takes climbers from the Finsteraarhorn Hut, over the Fieschersattel mountain pass and the southeast ridge. The Grosses Fiescherhorn is entirely framed by glaciers: In the northern part of the Ischmeer lake, in the eastern part of the Fiescherfirn and in the west is the eternal snow field.
