Friday, April 19 at 20:30 in the Collegiate Church of Bellinzona returns an appointment much appreciated by the public: the traditional Good Friday Concert.
For the 2019 edition of this now unmissable musical moment, Markus Poschner and the Orchestra della Svizzera italiana, with the participation of the Choir of Swiss Radio and Television, the soloists Genia Kühmeier soprano, Bettina Ranch mezzosoprano, Charles Workman tenor and Alejandro Marco-Buhrmester bass, will perform the last and greatest challenge of Beethoven: the Missa Solemnis, through which all the great sacred music of the 19th century passes, from Schubert to Berlioz, from Liszt to Bruckner. The concert, an OSI production, is made possible by the support of the City of Bellinzona, the Association of Friends of the Orchestra of Southern Switzerland and BancaStato.
General rehearsal
At the general rehearsal on Thursday 18 April, at 8.30 p.m., it will be possible to attend free of charge, subject to reservation and subject to availability of seats.
Presales
The advance sale of tickets at the entry price of CHF 50.- and CHF 30.- on the sides opens on 15 March 2019 and is organised by the Bellinzona Tourist Office at the Palazzo Civico (tel. 091 825 21 31), which will also manage the free tickets for the general rehearsal on Thursday 18 April, at 8.30 p.m., in the Collegiate Church in Bellinzona.
