Königsfelden Monastery – Habsburg Memorial
The Königsfelden Monastery has been a proud historical monument for 700 years. The elaborate, colourful church windows are among the best stained glass of the late Middle Ages in Europe.
If you enter this mystical place, which once was Roman, you will walk in the footsteps of a world dynasty of kings and emperors. Queen Elisabeth, the widow of murdered King Albrecht I of Habsburg, donated church and double monastery for the salvation of the Habsburg. The church windows are outstanding examples of European stained glass in the late Middle Ages.
