Power spots in Ticino – Yoga trail, Sass da Grüm
Overview
Intro
The “Sentiero dello Yoga” brings people closer to nature in a spirit of harmony. The wide range of shapes and colours encountered in the forest give visitors an inner calm, new vitality and plenty of energy.
The circular trail is around three kilometres long and designed along Vinyasa principles. In Sanskrit, Vinyasa essentially means “to place something in a special and sacred way”. Hikers following the yoga trail move through the forest in a particular way and stop at selected places. The aim is to not only perceive nature all around you but also rediscover one’s own inner nature. The senses are constantly focused inwards as hikers listen to their inner voice. The hike along the yoga trail is an intensive dialogue between people and nature. The aim is to rediscover oneself and get closer to one’s essential nature.
The yoga trail and the fountain by Meret Oppenheim in the centre of Carona are not the only sources of special power, however. Waterfalls, natural spaces, forests and special structures in Switzerland’s southernmost canton possess an energy that can both relax and inspire. Places where water rises up out of the earth are particularly strong sources of energy. One such example is the source of the Brenno river in Lukmanier. Visitors can also encounter power spots on cultural trails, crossing bridges, traversing dense sweet chestnut forests and passing through tiny villages.
Getting there: By PostBus to “Vairano, Paese” or by car to the car park at Sass da Grüm.
