Obersee – Sulzboden – Sulz – Lachenalp – Lachengrat (Längenegg Pass) – Alp Obere Längenegg – Vorauen Klöntal (Lake Klöntal)
The hike begins in Näfels with the ascent to Lake Obersee, which takes approximately two hours. It is also possible to reach Lake Obersee from Näfels by postal bus, but a reservation is required.
The trail continues on the right bank of Lake Obersee. It then follows the Sulzbach River to the camping site (open-air pool). Continuing through Sulz and over the Lachenalp, a gentle climb takes you to Längenegg Pass, the highest point of the hike. The peaks of the Glärnisch seem almost close enough to touch.
The descent to Lake Klöntal is somewhat steeper, but its lower section follows a wide mule track. Once you reach Lake Klöntal, if you’ve packed your swimwear you can cool down with refreshing dip in the picturesque waters of the lake.
