In the water-rich area around Interlaken, the large lakes with their colourful shorelines are closer to the majestic Alpine peaks than anywhere else. That’s why this is one of the best regions in which to immerse yourself in autumn and enjoy the fantastic colours that are reflected in the water.
Gantrisch Nature Park
Gantrisch Nature Park’s landscape is dotted with deep gorges, dense forests and the unique Gantrisch mountain chain. There is plenty on offer here for both those in search of adventure and those just wanting to relax. And as the day draws to a close, everyone can meet up again in one of the great restaurants to marvel together at the starry sky, which lights up the night thanks to limited light pollution.
Gstaad Region & Lenk-Simmental
Autumn is a particularly special time around Gstaad and the Lenk-Simmental region, when the colourful meadows and the background of snow-dusted mountain peaks lend the town a wonderful holiday feel. In addition to sporting adventures in the glorious Simmental, Gstaad has something for every taste and even the most sophisticated of palates, with gourmet restaurants, not to mention lovely chalets.
In the diverse Jungfrau Region, the faces of the four-thousand-metre peaks rise up from picturesque slopes covered in blossoming gentian. When the first snow dusts the mountain tops and the forests below explode in a riot of colour, the spectacle of nature is especially memorable. In the autumn, the area around Adelboden and Kandersteg offers numerous ways of passing the time, ranging from beautiful hikes through golden forests, pop-up golfing and glass-bottom boats to cheese fondue in a cowshed.
