The Stanserhorn offers a fantastic panorama of the Alps and the lakes of the Swiss Plateau. The Stanserhorn circular trail, which begins on the terrace of the upper station, is the best way to enjoy this 360-degree view.
At the Adlerfluh there are spectacular views of the Obwalden region and towards Brünig. The circular trail then climbs gently to the summit, where you are rewarded with a breathtaking panorama. In fine weather, the majestic peaks look close enough to touch and you can see ten different lakes. The descent leads past a marmot sanctuary, where you can observe these cute little creatures in their natural habitat. Total hiking time: 30 minutes.
There’s hardly a more unique way to end the working week than in the Rondorama, the rotating restaurant on the Stanserhorn. Friday nights in Central Switzerland begin with a ride on the nostalgic and beautifully restored funicular railway from Stans to the Kälti middle station, then onwards with the modern cable car to the Stanserhorn upper station, at 1,900 metres, where you can enjoy a delectable dinner with views of ten Swiss lakes and 100 kilometres of Alps.
