Hardened hikers know the mountain ridge south of Gstaad: As it’s a top starting point for panoramic hikes to the highly-praised Lauenensee lake. Gondola rail takes you up to Höhi Wispile.
Gstaad’s home mountain can well be described a family mountain: With small animals zoo, Falabella breed of horse, miniature goats and pigs, tree park adventure, tale-telling Uncle and the notorious mountain breakfasts. Not to speak of the popular cheese path with showcase cheese-making dairy, picnic and grill places with wood provided or the "Silentiumplatz" with hammocks for those who’d like some peace to hang around in!
The first "Funi" sled was underway here back 1935: Two large sleds, bound together by a rope and driven by an electric motor. And these transported as many as 100 people to the mountain per hour.
