Die Ausstellung lädt dazu ein, die künstlerische Handschrift Segers neu zu entdecken und die Vielfalt seiner Inspiration zu erleben.

Haben Sie sich schon einmal gefragt, wieviel Kunst in einer Briefmarke steckt? Oder wie ein winziges Bild ganze Geschichten über Liechtenstein erzählen kann?

Der Maler und Grafiker Josef Seger (1908–1998) stammt aus Vaduz, wohnt und arbeitet aber den grössten Teil seines Lebens in Österreich. Er ist einer der bedeutendsten Briefmarkengestalter Liechtensteins. Zwischen 1945 und 1977 prägt er mit 69 Entwürfen das Gesicht der liechtensteinischen Markenwelt entscheidend mit. Seine Motive reichen vom Fürstenhaus über Weihnachten bis hin zu beliebten Tier- und Sportdarstellungen – viele von ihnen gelten heute als kleine Meilensteine der Briefmarkenkunst. Segers Entwürfe zeichnen sich durch künstlerische Qualität, thematische Vielfalt und feine Detailarbeit aus.

Die Ausstellung zeigt die Originalentwürfe dieser Briefmarken sowie rund 30 unveröffentlichte Entwürfe und Tier- und Landschaftsstudien. Sie lädt dazu ein, die künstlerische Handschrift Segers neu zu entdecken und die Vielfalt seiner Inspiration zu erleben.
