Intro
This bike route in the middle on Toggenburg is quite challenging, but offers a unique far-reaching view as a reward. Both Lake Zürich and Lake Constance can be seen from the Chrüzegg.
Description
This route begins in Toggenburg’s community centre, Wattwil. Right at the start there are 600m to be scaled before you can take a rest on the Chrüzegg. The view from the alpine restaurant is unique; you can gaze over Lake Zürich and Lake Constance, the highlands of St Gallen and the Glarus, Central Swiss and Bernese Alps.
The route continues to the village of Libingen, where the former ski racer, Maria Walliser, learnt to ski. Following the ascent down the Chapf, the route leads down to the pretty village of Krinau in the valley (with only 300 inhabitants).
The last section takes you back to Wattwil along the Thur. Wattwil is easy to get to from Rapperswil, Wil and St Gallen.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
