This bike tour amid the Suvretta peaks between the duty-free enclave of Samnaun and Ischgl affords views of impressive mountain scenery and provides numerous other biking highlights. Fast-paced single trails and flowtrails make the descents a perfect biking experience.
Description
This bike tour starts near the mountain railway valley station in Ravaisch. It continues along the Schergenbach to the church of Compatsch. Then there's an ascent to Alp Trida and the Viderjoch, from where the tour follows the Swiss/Austrian border up to the Greitspitze summit at 2867 m.a.s.l., the highest point of the tour with a spectacular view of the Samnaun mountain world.
Over the Salaaser Kopf and Hüttenboden you follow a single trail to Alp Trider Sattel, where a restaurant offers food and refreshments. The descent on a flowtrail takes you to Alp Trida (697, Trider Sattel) and on a freeride trail (697, Duty Free Ride) to Laret. From there, it is only a short distance to return to the starting point in Ravaisch. If you want to save yourself the ascent via Compatsch to Alp Trida, you can take the worldwide first double decker cable car up and start your tour at Alp Trider Sattel. The transport of bikes is free of charge.
