Mountain biking

The upper Verzasca Valley is an almost forgotten corner of Switzerland, but the Ticino couldn’t be more authentic than it is here. The mountain bike is a good choice to explore this remote region.

The bike tour over the Kunkels Pass is a real classic and connects the spa town of Bad Ragaz in St. Gallen with Tamins in Grisons. At the same time, you completely circle the well-known Calanda Mountain.

A journey of discovery on the western side of the Blenio Valley. Across the wide Nara basin with seemingly endless panoramic views of the Malvaglia Valley. Technically challenging descent through a number of villages, including Selvapiana. Continue via the ruins of Serravalle Castle.

This wonderful bike tour starts in Roveredo. After a short flat stretch you climb through a magnificent forest towards Giova. The downhill runs towards Buseno and then from Castaneda to Grono are challenging, but with a wonderful panorama.

A wonderful and sporty trail through the Neuchâtel Mountains: the best way to discover the musts and typical points of view of the area. A chance to admire the beautiful Lake Moron, the Saut-du-Doubs waterfall and Lake Brenets.

An interesting day trip that takes you amid the magnificent mountainous Alpine landscape at the Flumserberg, and that is topped off with an exciting descent through the beautiful Schils Valley.

Great Alpine route set in wonderful countryside. The tour takes you via the panoramic path Prätschli - Ochsenalp to Tschiertschen. From there you continue via Molinis back to Arosa.

City tours are not for mountain bikers – my foot! If the route is properly prepared, it can even be a highlight – as it happened in Lugano with the Lugano Bike route, combining Monte Bar and Monte Tamaro.

Rustic Hotel Weisshorn sits on an outcrop high above Val d’Anniviers. The mountain inn marks the end of the tour with a backdrop of the most impressive peaks in the Valais.

The Mont Tendre Bike route is the ideal way to discover everything the Vallée de Joux has to offer. This circular route takes you through the foothills of Mont Tendre, the highest peak of the Swiss Jura, (1,680m), and returns along the south bank of Lac de Joux.

«Alta Tensione» is the name of the short but exciting trail from Poschiavo to Le Prese and back. It follows the high-voltage power lines on the sunny side of the valley - a very energetic bike experience!

Biking in the tracks of the Walsers from the narrow Valsertal into the wide Val Lumnezia. The Tomülpass offers fabulous views of mountain summits and the mysterious Safiental. The flower meadows and Alpine pastures of Lugnez make a captivating contrast.

The Suvretta Loop is one of the best tours in the Upper Engadine. Highlights include a more than five-kilometre downhill ride on a single trail through the Suvretta da Samedan and the subsequent ride through majestic Val Bever.

A small steep asphalt road leads out of Toggenburg to Vorder Höhi, with wonderful views of the rugged Glarner Alps. The racy descent leads to the shores of the glistening, deep-blue Walensee.

This route links Olivone with Biasca and can be travelled in either direction. The route features many historical and cultural testaments to the valley's past.

Beautiful circular tour through several Tarasp hamlets - Florins, Chaposch and Valatscha – featuring authentic Engadine houses. It then carries on through colourful larch forests and moorscapes and includes a stop by peaceful Lai Nair (lake) and a visit to impressive Tarasp Castle.

The tour along the high alpine hiking track Schächental is a classic amongst bike tours. The fantastic panoramic ride has optimum infrastructure and is peppered with ascents and descents, all situated in lovely countryside.

The church of San Romerio can be clearly seen from Poschiavo. It is located 800 meters above the valley floor on a rocky outcrop and has long been known to mountain bikers as one of the most rewarding destinations in Val Poschiavo.

An undemanding excursion and within everyone's reach. It takes in mainly the woodland of San Clemente and the small lake of Origlio. It is a naturalistic but at the same time cultural itinerary where you can admire the symbiosis between what nature and man have created.

Via the Rhine Falls and Jestetten (Germany) and forested Rossberg into the sunny area of Klettgau, the largest vineyard area in Canton Schaffhausen. On through the pretty villages of Osterfingen, Wilchingen and Trasadingen and along the vineyards to Hallau. A glass of wine is a must.

Well-known bike tour through high alpine terrain. The tour is designed as an outstanding two-day tour with an overnight in the «Keschhütte» (mountain lodge).

Itinerary offering splendid views of Leysin and Lake Geneva. Don't miss ancient village Panex, which is crossed by the famous salt path or, at the end of the trip, the beautiful vineyards and Ollon village.

The climb through the rugged Lorzentobel to the idyllic Ägerisee is pleasantly cool in summer. Little country roads lead through the rolling Zug region and over the wide moorland near Rothenthurm to the monastery town of Einsiedeln.
