Cheese-making dairy, visitor’s gallery, bar and shop guarantee a taste of all that’s behind this protein-packed delicacy in the Jura and Three-Lakes region.

The production of Absinthe – also called “Green Fairy” was prohibited for over 90 years. Since 2005 the mythical liquor, which is based on the distillation of various plants and herbs, can again be legally consumed.

Seeteufel adventure park has been a popular choice for outings in the Bernese Seeland region for decades. From humble beginnings as a few aquariums in a railway carriage, it has grown into a unique world that is just waiting to be discovered.

The Aare is the longest river lying entirely within Switzerland. Between Biel and Solothurn, it offers perfect conditions for canoeists.

The well-preserved castle of Neuchâtel, which is over 1,000 years old and from which the city gets its name, towers above the small city of Neuchâtel. From here, you have the best view for miles.

“Ô Vergers d’Ajoie” is a museum which allows you to immerse yourself in the production process of brandy via interactive, multi-sensory activities, both within the museum and outside in the orchards.

The name is already promising: “Pichoux” means 1,000 springs.

The Strandboden area is located right by Lake Biel. Here is where locals take time out from their busy lives to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and splendid views.

The 10-km-long walk from Sonvilier to the Hôtel Chasseral leads past the castle ruins of the former Erguël castle, along Jura moors and the upper part of the "Combe Grède".

This wine trail with a total of 27 panels winds its way through the vineyards. The trail takes just under an hour and begins at Cressier Castle NE.

The enchanting Château de Pleujouse in the Jura could also have served as a location for filming the “Game of Thrones” TV series. Far from the madding crowd, you can dine in style in the centuries-old castle.

Vegetables from the region, cooked and consumed locally: Host René Koelliker first takes the visitors through the old town of Biel, then to the market and finally to his house where they all cook and dine together – with a view of the Alps and Lake Biel. A vegetarian or vegan pleasure.

For over 100 years asphalt was laboriously mined in the underground asphalt mines of La Presta and exported all over the world for road construction. Today the mines are no longer in operation and are partially open to the public as a museum.

Arranged wholly in the style of its French (or western Swiss) predecessors, this via ferrata has optimum safety. The views across and down into the Val de Travers from above, on the broad rock barrier, are very appealing. The route is 550 metres long, largely following natural ledges, where the safety rope generally also serves as a hand-hold rope. The site is closed from January 1 to June  30 and cannot be climbed then (it is the nesting period for the wallcreeper).

This nature trail invites visitors to discover the natural treasures of Bellelay from a new perspective and learn more about dragonflies.

Dedicated to the history of timekeeping, the Musée International d'Horlogerie (MIH) is home to more than 4,500 collection pieces, of which 2,700 watches and around 700 wall clocks. The technical, artistic, social and economic aspect of the history of watchmaking is illustrated here in living manner.

A peaceful alternative for groups to discover the region is a canoe trip on the Doubs river.
