Klewenalp-Stockhütte-Weg
Overview
Intro
Sweeping views far from the madding crowd: set among impressive mountain scenery wth a view on the Mythen, this winter trail leads through snow-covered pine forests.
Description
With this view over Lake Lucerne, the surrounding mountains and Central Switzerland stretching as far as the Black Forest, the stress of day-to-day routine is forgotten in no time. This leisurely winter trail in the Klewenalp-Stockhütte snow paradise starts on the Klewenalp (1600 m above sea level), high above the sea of mist. The mountain station of Nidwalden’s largest skiing area can be reached on Central Switzerland’s longest aerial cableway.
The trail passes along the Klewenboden ski practice slope. Past the listed Klewenkapelle chapel, the trail leads around the Klewenstock towards Stafel, where the Chälen sledge run starts. The route continues along the stream and through a snow-covered section of forest to the Aengi ski lift. From here you hike downhill in gentle bends until the route ends at the Stockhütte top station.
From Stockhütte mountain station, the cable car returns trippers to Emmetten. This charming mountain village is set in a beautiful location on a terrace in the Alpine foothills, overlooking the southern banks of Lake Lucerne.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
