Auf den Fährten der Wisente

The European bison is the last representative of the wild cattle species on the European continent. Around 1000 years after their extinction, it might now be possible to resettle the largest remaining wild animal in Europe in the Thal Nature Park. The association 'Wisent im Thal' is committed to this cause. In the 100-hectare fenced forest area, European bisons live, and they are not easy to spot.

Only the bison rangers and bison guides know where the animals are located. They know the right behaviors to observe the animals undisturbed and safely. In the two hours, they will tell you and your group a lot of interesting information about the bisons and their habitat. You will also learn exciting things about the unique 'Wisent Thal' project in Welschenrohr.

Tickets Can be booked online or purchased at the Tourist Office on Hauptgasse 69 in Solothurn. The number of participants is limited. The spots are limited – it pays to be quick!
