In the midst of the mountains between the Maderaner Valley and Surselva, in the Oberalpstock region.
The hut is reached from the Vorderrheintal (Upper Rhine Valley) in 5 1/2 hours from the Madernal, or from Bristen in the Maderaner Valley (7 hours). The climb from Disentis (starting at the aerial cable car, 3 1/2 hours) via the Brunni Pass is secured with ladders and steel cables. For seasoned mountain hikers, crossing the glacier is possible without major problems. The hut accommodates 70 guests (duvets). Outside the summer season, 20 persons can be accommodated in the winter room.
