The culinary highlights at our premises - the IGNIV by Andreas Caminada stands for a successful fine dining sharing experience. The Delish coffee shop is where you can enjoy breakfast, crispy pinsas, garden fresh salads and tempting dolci, with a magical view onto the bustling side streets.

Swiss Historic Hotel

First mention of the hotel as a guesthouse was back in 1425. And since extensive renovation works, with great attention paid to preserving heritage listed elements, this splendid 600-year-old abode at the heart of Zurich’s romantic old town, namely “Dörfli“, delights with a skilful blend of history and modern: Exposed columns, playful frescoes, simple panelling and nostalgic lattice windows discreetly reflect the long cherished. The 39 atmospheric rooms are fitted with design classics and quality parquet flooring.

Boutique & Design Hotel

This 600-year-old building boasts a refined mix of historic heritage elements and timeless, modern design. Columns, frescos and old floors alternate with simple yet stylish wood chairs and textiles in discreet colours. Each of the differently sized rooms features custom-made furniture, which creates the atmosphere of a private home. The lobby feels like a living room, while the delish Café Take-out and Baltho Küche&Bar on the ground floor are great places to meet locals.

The building, which dates from the 15th century, can look back at over 600 years of hospitality. Despite extensive renovation, the numerous stories from the past can be experienced and perceived throughout the hotel. Many of the historical features are under a preservation order, and thanks to careful renovation its age-old past is now combined with timeless, eclectic design abounding in charm and personality.

LOCATION AND SURROUNDINGS The Marktgasse Hotel is located in the heart of Zurich's Old Town, between Central and Bellevue. We recommend using public transport to reach the hotel. ARRIVING BY PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION Take tram no. 4 or 15 to the Rathaus stop, walk up Marktgasse for 1 minute. The hotel is on the left. ARRIVING BY CAR Many parts of Zurich's old town are blocked to personal motorised vehicles. This is also the case for Marktgasse. As a guest holding a valid reservation, you are permitted to drive up to the hotel to load and unload your luggage. PARKING The Marktgasse Hotel has no parking spaces of its own. We recommend that you park in one of the following public car parks Urania Car Park, Uraniastrasse 3, 8001 Zurich parkhaus-urania. ch Hohe Promenade Car Park, Raemistrasse 22a, 8001 Zurich parkhaus-hohepromenade. ch
