A culinary adventure in Cevio and its “grotti”
Intro
Starting in Cevio, the main town of the Maggia Valley, visitors hike along the paved “Cevio and its grotti” trail through the idyllic landscape, enjoying delicious products from the region along the way.
The trail begins on the charming square in the heart of historic Cevio, the main town of the Maggia Valley. Visitors can order a picnic bag with local products from the Val Magìa shop before they explore the area with its historic mountain restaurants. The little shop is popular with locals and tourists alike and features an information point, where visitors can find out about local hiking trails and other activities in the region.
The “Cevio and its grotti” trail will make you feel like an archaeologist as you explore the idyllic natural setting of the gorges created by a prehistoric landslide, discovering about 60 virtually unaltered historic rustic retreats, known as grotti. When hunger strikes after all your amazing discoveries, you can simply choose a nice stone table and sit down to enjoy the delicious local products. Round off the day with a visit to the Museo di Valmaggia and a delicious coffee in one of the partner restaurants in Cevio (both included in the package).
