Experienced skiers really come into their own on the Gemsstock above Andermatt with its high-Alpine terrain, magnificent panorama and challenging slopes. The highlight is the descent on the Bernhard Russi Run to Gurschen.
In the 1970s, Bernhard Russi achieved legendary success in the Olympic Winter Games and World Championships. Although this former ski racer is now a world-renowned ski run architect, he did not create the Bernhard Russi Run in Andermatt himself. Rather, this was the place where he practiced his swings in his younger years. Later, his home village named the challenging slopes in his honour. The route runs from the summit of the Gemsstock, with its panoramic view, steeply down to the cable car middle station at Gurschen.
